Fishetnam
So there I was, minding my own business, working on this recumbent tricycle, and *BOOM*, elevnty bajillion things came crashing down on me at once. The duties and tasks all exploded in a cataclysmic pillar of fire, lodging a splinter of white oak in my left eye, and by the time Icould pry it out and look around the at remaining rubble of what used to be something comparable to what most people refer to as "order", here I sit, two months from my last post.
At any rate, oddly, nothing has changed on the recumbent since my last entry. I haven't had time to go visit it, or sit down with it for tea, or even call it on the phone. What has happenned, though, is that Cole and I decided to engage in a strange psychological warfare known to few as "Fishetnam".
Why Fishetnam? Remember Vietnam? Yeah, that one time when a lot of people were like "Oh, it's not really a war, it's just a conflict...." and some other people were like "Hey, what the heck is ABBA and who are the Carpenters, and why am I wearing a polyester liesure suit?", but the people who were there, the people who saw the horror with their own eyes...they were like "Dude, you have no idea...they mess with your mind, man, they mess with your head..."
Well, Cole and I took it upon ourselves to wage our own conflict. The fish will mess with your head, oh yes, they will. You'll feel a tug, or see something dart towards your bait, only to come up with an empty hook, void of both prey and bait...BLAST! Or worse, you come up with something you wouldn't even want to keep because you can buy larger Bettas at Wal-Mart.
Soon, given enough tactical information, we will be able to effectively wage a full-scale military operation, and Fishetnam will become more than just the Fishetnam Conflict...it will become the Dinner War.
More details later.
